A bit about me....I'm Andrew—a Sony A1ii slinging, sober-living photographer based in Georgia, USA. I'm the proud father of two incredible kids, who I’m blessed to spend half my time with. I grew up all over California’s Bay Area, with the Santa Cruz Mountains as my backyard and playground. My love for photography began early, sparked by watching my grandfather’s deep fascination with cameras, world history, and aviation. That spark turned into action in 2010 when I took photography classes in California and bought my first setup. From that moment on, I was hooked. Since getting sober in 2020, photography has become so much more than a hobby—it’s a daily practice of self-care and mindfulness. It forces me to slow down, breathe, and notice the beauty in the quiet details of life. Shooting with a clear mind brought a new kind of clarity to my work, and that’s what inspired the name SoberGlass. Photography has been a healing force in my life. It’s given me peace, purpose, and a way to connect—both with nature and with others. Sharing that passion is something I truly love. It’s not just about capturing images; it’s about growth, gratitude, and being present.

A nomad since birth.

California raised with new found Georgia roots

Moving around a lot as a kid means you learn to find home in places rather than structures. For me, that home was always outside. No matter where we landed in the Bay Area, the mountains were my constant. The Santa Cruz Mountains weren't just a backdrop to my childhood; they were my playground, my sanctuary, and my first real introduction to the raw beauty of the natural world.Growing up surrounded by towering redwoods and coastal fog instilled a deep, permanent reverence for nature in me. It taught me to appreciate the grand scale of a mountain ridgeline, but also the quiet patience of the wildlife living within it. That nomadic upbringing gave me a restlessness that only settles when I’m out in the elements with a camera in hand. Even though I'm now firmly rooted in the beautiful landscapes of Georgia, that kid who fell in love with the California wilderness is still the one calling the shots behind the lens.
